Pilot activities

Following the “Action Plans of Sustainable Electro-mobility Plans” that will be developed via the project, EnerNETMob will create “Small-scale Infrastructure Networks” while the pilot actions will concern 3 major thematic challenges for electromobility:

1.       Intermodal sea-road transport

2.       Shared mobility

3.       City logistics

Project partners will test the flexibility of interurban displacement of Battery Electric Vehicles in a range of 30-60 kms by using charging points placed in different cities.

Executive design of Electric Vehicles charging and electric transport infrastructure/ services will occur. During the project an ICT Platform will be designed and will allow:

-          the management and monitoring of charging infrastructures

-          the interconnection of local “small scale infrastructure networks in a wider Interregional Electromobility Network.

Pilot 1 which will optimize the mileage of Battery Electric Vehicles in reference to sea-road trips will involve 9 charging points and 5 electric vehicles in the following countries: Malta, Albania, Greece (Thessaly), Croatia (County of Primorje and Gorski Cotar), Montenegro (Port of Bar).

Pilot 2 will test shared electromobility in combination with renewable energy sources by replicating car-sharing or bike-sharing systems already implemented in bigger urban areas of 5 EU countries. 15 charging stations will be installed and 5 vehicles will be purchased. Also 20 bikes including GPS/ICT equipment and 10 e-bikes for the disabled will be used in the following countries: Cyprus (Nicosia), Slovenia (Goriska), Greece (Peloponnesse), Italy (Ragusa), Spain (Barcelona).

Pilot 3  will test last mile city logistics. Battery Electric Vehicles will be used in 3 cities in collaboration with SMEs and farmer associations so as to propose a sustainable business model for agri-food chains. 4 charging stations will be installed, 3 electric vehicles and 3 e-cargo bikes will be used in the following countries: France (Bouche-du-Rhone),Italy (Palermo), Portugal (Arrabida).

Specific assessment reports will be issued for each Pilot so as to come up with homogenized and updated Sustainable Electromobility Plans after the testing period.

Tranferring lessons learned-Capitalizing

An “Action Plan for the enhancement of the electromobility industry” and “Electromobility  implementation guidelines” will be published as well as several technical events will take place. A “Handbook for Sustainable Electromobility” will be developed. Several local seminars will be organised.

Policy reccomendations for enhancing Electromobility taking into account the characteristics of MED area will be published.

A “policy paper on electromobility challenges and opportunities” will be created.
